CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

In order to broaden the perspective of the students and provide enriching experiences, the institution organizes a number of co-curricular activities:

 Yoga Training

Experienced resource persons are invited to provide Yoga training to all the students to ensure a healthy mind in a healthy body. It is a short certificate course. It is an additional qualification for our students. The Yoga training is also extended to the non teaching and support staff of the entire campus.

Community Work

Community work is a part of the curriculum.  Institution collaborates with several different organizations to place students in varied environments like working with the underprivileged sections of the society, with the mentally and physically challenged children, with environment centres for tree plantation, old age homes etc. The whole experience is designed to sensitize students to the needs of society and the role of the teacher towards the disadvantaged section of the society.

Cultural Programs

The institution promotes cultural engagement for students through the student council programs. Variety of programs, competitions (in house as well as intercollegiate) is organized and student participation is encouraged.

Annual Sports

To develop the student teachers physically well as mentally sports are conducted annually.

 

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

At Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Education the day was celebrated on 8th March 2019. Various activities were conducted as a part of this event. Dress code for this event was green, purple and white. The event started with an inspirational speech followed by a skit on how women were forced to stay behind. Another interesting activity was conducted which described women at every phase of her life in different Indian languages. The event commenced with a mesmerising dance performance was also done on problems faced by a woman in her day to day life.  

DIWALI CELEBRATION

Students and teachers of Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Education had dressed up in traditional attire. The class was beautifully decorated with colourful lanterns, diyas, torans and rangoli. There were emotional and moving dance performances including prayer dance, saraswati vandan dance and Diwali theme dance by B.Ed students. 

HOLI CELEBRATION

Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Education celebrated Holi on 21st March, 2019. All students and teachers felt the exuberance of warmth and the joy of vibrant colours applied on them. There was laughter, joy and merry making in the air. They would remember the day with a difference ~ spent cheerfully and left the school with joyous colourful memories.

MARATHI BHASHA DIN

Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Education geared up to celebrate KUSUMAGRAJ BIRTH ANNIVERSARY ON 27 FEBRUARY, 2018 which is also known as MARATHI BHASHA DIWAS. All students and teachers took active participation with positivity and enthusiasm. Various activities were conducted including showing videos of famous Marathi author and poets, and even a mesmerising enactment of a Marathi wedding celebration! 

MAKAR SANKRANTI

Vibrant celebrations marked the harvest festival of Lohri at Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Education. Students made cards and beautiful thalis. Students actively participated in different activities. They sang songs, recited poems, and performed delightful dances. These all activities helped them appreciate the traditions associated with it. All the students and teachers thoroughly enjoyed the festival. 

GUDI PADWA

Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Education celebrated Gudi Padwa. Gudi Padwa is a festival done in the springtime to celebrate the Marathi Hindu new year. The entire morning was filled with anticipation. After many hours’ worth of preparation, the entire B.Ed students gathered to enjoy the festivities! Several of the students introduced Gudi Padwa’s significance and how people all over the state celebrate in their own, unique ways. It was a treat to students dance and sing with confidence on stage and to be a part of their New Year’s celebration!

CHRISTMAS

Christmas is the festival which inspires the spirit of sharing and caring. Christmas celebration was held on 20th December 2019. The class was beautifully decorated and everybody was dressed in red and white. The programme started with an information about Christmas and why is it celebrated. A beautiful skit followed depicting the scenes of the nativity of Jesus Christ interspersed with melodious carols sung by the choir. The event ended with cheerful Christmas greetings as the students danced to the melodious tunes of ‘Jingle Bells’. It was a joyous and amusing programme for everyone.

GUEST LECTURE TALK

Dr. E.Ramganeshan was invited in our college to deliver a lecture on topic “Recent Developments in Digital Classroom”. In his informative and interactive lecture he focused on many digital trends available for students to increase their knowledge and skill level. He spoke on “SWAYAM” and encouraged students and Faculty members to participate in on line courses run by SWAYAM. 

HOLI

Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Education celebrates all festivals with great enthusiasm and zeal. The most colourful and vibrant festival of India – Holi was celebrated with splash of colours in NMFCE. The students started the celebration with Saraswati Pooja. They enacted a play depicting the story of HolikaDahan.  The students had prepared a spread of mouthwatering delicacies and everyone had a great time. Active participation and support from our Principal ma’am and teachers made this event a grand success.

GURU PURNIMA

Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Education celebrated the auspicious occasion on Guru Purnima day. This day we revered our Gurus who are our role models and inspiration. We welcomed our Principal and Teachers highlighting their importance and presence that makes a difference in our lives through prayer.The shlok and meaning of the celebrations led us to open our hearts as future gurus who will sow seeds of lovein all. We had our classmate Ms. Alexinha D'souza performe the kathak dance accompanied by Guru Mantra, it was a synergy of love and reverence emanating from the heart of each pupil desiring to follow the pathway of our Teachers who make a difference in our lives by their sacrifice and dedication.

INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY

Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Education celebrated Women’s day virtually with full enthusiasm. A welcome video was played followed by virtual lighting of lamp. The student anchor greeted and welcomed everyone. PowerPoint presentation was presented, highlighting the currently famous, popular and incredible women who have contributed and brought our country into the limelight. A poem was recited on the hardships faced by women of today's society. Some students performed solo dance. Celebration of this day highlighted the importance and value of a woman. 
 

INDEPENDENCE DAY

Independence day was celebrated on 15th august. The event started by playing the shehnai music of Ustad Bismillah Khan. A welcome note was delivered and virtual lighting of the lamp was carried out. A virtual flag hoisting ceremony was held and we salute our flag with the feel of patriotism followed the Dhwaj geet, Our Honourable Principal madam gave a motivational speech to be proud of our nation and shared with us the real meaning of Freedom. The constitution of India was read. Patriotism song was sung and three solo dances were performed by our talented students.

AKSHAY URJA DIWAS

Akshay Urja Diwas was celebrated in NMFCE on 20th August. The idea and objective of celebrating this day is to promote the utilization of renewable resources of energy, to acknowledge environmental conservation. Mr. Sandesh Mali through his welcome speech, welcomed the Principal Madam Dr. Tandra Bandyopadhyay as well as president, vice president and secretary of NMFCE Science club. The Akshay Urja Title Song was played, followed by prayers of energy by Ms. Simran Bhate. Ms. Alexinha D’souza said the green pledge on behalf of all the participants. After the pledge Ms. Bhagyashree Khanna highlighted the importance of Akshay Urja through her speech.

HINDI BHASHA DIWAS

Hindi Bhasha Diwas was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Education on 14th September, 2021 as a mark of acknowledgement of HINDI. The celebration began with lighting of lamp and prayer followed by speech. Kabir ke Dohe and attractive quotes on Hindi diwas was presented wherein the audience were enthralled & spellbound with the fluent language spoken by the students. Last but not the least a vibrant solo dance performance was done on “Hindi Maa Ki Bindi”. Thus, the celebration concluded with a positive note and vote of thanks.

DIWALI

The students of N.M.F.C.E celebrated Diwali on 30th October 2021 on Google meet. This beautiful celebration started with a short prayer invoking the blessings of God upon our families and the world at large. We honored Goddess Saraswati by chanting Saraswati Vandana. The positive ambiance of the day inspired us to seek opportunities in the most difficult situations of our lives with love and perseverance. Some of our classmates put up a beautiful dance wishing everyone good cheer that Diwali brings in. We exchanged smiles and extended our best wishes to each other. 
 

CHRISTMAS

We the students of Nirmala Memorial Foundation college of Education were indeed very blessed and privileged to prepare a Crib signifying the birth of Christ. Our B.Ed section put up a wonderful programme on 22nd December 2021.The event began with a prayer and a prayer dance that created an ambience of God’s love and presence around us.The carolers sang carols rejoicing and celebrating. Next was a surprise dance which left our feet tapping. The most awaited moment of welcoming dawned as all the students received special greetings and gifts from the Santa Claus. 

MARATHI DIWAS

Marathi Bhasha Diwas was celebrated on 8th March 2022 to commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary Marathi poet Kusumagraj. There was Lighting of the lamp by all our faculty members. A graceful Ganesh Vandana dance was staged. Later there was a poetry recitation followed by a skit, and a powada was recited. Later a ppt was presented followed by a kohli dance. An enchanting speech was also presented followed by Laavni. There were riddles by Faculties and a vote of Thanks was presented. 

HOLI

Holi is a Hindu festival that celebrates the arrival of spring and the victory of good over evil. This was conducted on 17th of March 2022. The celebration began with the college's principal delivering a brief speech. After the principal's speech, students and staff members started throwing colored powders and water at each other, dancing to music and enjoying traditional sweets. The atmosphere was vibrant and lively, with students and staff members from different cultural backgrounds coming together to celebrate a shared tradition. The event was well-organized and received positive feedback. 
 

GUDI PADWA

Gudi Padwa is a traditional Hindu festival that marks the beginning of the new year according to the Hindu calendar. It was celebrated with great enthusiasm at NMFCE on 1st April 2022. The celebration began with a traditional puja ceremony followed by traditional Maharashtrian dances, songs, and skits. The performances showcased the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtra and its significance in Indian culture. The Gudi Padwa celebration at our college was a great success. The celebration helped to promote cultural awareness and respect, which are essential values for a diverse and inclusive college community.

GURUPURNIMA

The audience was welcomed in a beautifully decorated hall. The event commenced with a welcome speech. Thereafter, lighting of lamp done for Ganesh Vandana, followed by a solo dance. Authentic Paduka pooja was performed. A mesmerizing song was sung which left the audience wanting for more. Speech and Story-telling was awesomely done. A power point was presented to elaborate the importance of Guru Purnima. Poem and Shayari were performed, followed by a solo song. Games were played, the audience was participative and enthusiastic. Lastly a Vote of Thanks was given. 

INDEPENDENCE DAY

On August 15th, India celebrated its 75th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism. The day began with the hoisting of the national flag by the Prime Minister at the historic Red Fort in Delhi, followed by a speech addressing the nation. On the 19th of August, 2022 NMFCE commemorated the occasion of Independence Day. There was a stupendous dance which was filled with effervescence, it indeed set the stage on fire. There was singing in Hindi, which left the audience in cheer and awe. A small skit was staged which was an unforgettable one. The event was brought to an end with national anthem.

JANMASHTAMI

To mark the pious occasion of Janmashtami, the Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Education celebrated Janmashtami on 20th August, 2022. Our teachers lit the lamp for Ganesh Vandana followed by Saraswati Vandana. Shri Krishna pooja was done and then the event started. The very first performance was the Ras Lila dance followed by a beautiful skit on Janmashtami. Many students performed group dances and a power point presentation was also done showcasing the importance of the festival. The celebrations concluded with the distribution of sweets and Prasad. The event was such a momentous one.
 

HINDI DIWAS

On 14th September 2022 the FY B.Ed students of Nirmala Memorial Foundation College celebrated HINDI DIWAS. As soon as the teachers arrived there was lighting of the lamp and prayers were offered to goddess Saraswati. The event was carried forward by a beautiful speech. There was a small skit performed, which had a powerful message. The enchanting poem recitations held the audience spellbound. The celebration ended by a vote of thanks. Overall, the Hindi Diwas celebration was a great way to promote the importance of Hindi language in our lives. 
 

TEACHERS DAY

 
On the occasion of Teachers' Day, our college organized a special event to honor and appreciate the hard work and dedication of our teachers. The event was held on September 14th 2022 which was a great success. The programe started with a warm welcome speech. To set the mood a dance was performed followed by thrilling duet performance. Students presented PPT to elaborate on importance of the event. An invigorating skit was performed. Fun games were arranged. Later on delightful poems were delivered. A very creative sand - up comedy was performed. The eventful afternoon was brought to an end with vote of thanks

GANDHI JAYANTI

Gandhi Jayanti is a national holiday in India that is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, who is also known as the "Father of the Nation." Gandhi Jayanti was held in our college on 1st of October. The event started with the speech on Gandhiji and Lal Bahadur Shastriji followed by a Rally. In the rally, the students sang various bhajans on Gandhiji. The corridor was beautifully decorated with various posters on Gandhiji made by students. This Gallery walk enhanced the Knowledge of students and stated insightful facts about both of them. 

VACHAN PRERNA DIWAS

Vachan Prerna Diwas is a day dedicated to the celebration of the life and teachings of former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. It is observed on his birth anniversary, the 15th of October. The venue for the event was decorated with posters, banners, and photographs of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. The celebration began with a welcome address by the college principal. After the principal's address, there was a presentation on the life and legacy of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. It also showcased his speeches and writings, which continue to inspire people around the world. 
 

DIWALI

Diwali is one of the most widely celebrated festivals in India, and our college organized a celebration from 17th to 19th October. Students performed traditional dances, songs, and skits related to Diwali. The performances showcased the diversity and richness of Indian culture and added to the festive atmosphere. The highlight of the program was Ram leela to give a traditional viewpoint on why Diwali is celebrated at a large scale in India. The Diwali celebration at our college was a great success, as it brought together students, faculty members, and staff members to celebrate the festival of lights. 

CHRISTMAS

On 25th December 2022, our college organized a grand celebration to mark the occasion of Christmas. The entire campus was decorated with colorful lights, Christmas trees, and other festive decorations. The students and staff members sang Christmas carols and hymns together. There was a beautiful crib of Jesus decorated meticulously. One of the highlights of the event was a Christmas-themed talent show, where students performed songs, dances, and skits based on the Christmas theme. The event left everyone with memories that will be cherished for years to come.
 

MAKAR SANKRANTI

Makar Sankranti is celebrated marking the harvest season. NMFCE celebrated it by decorating classroom, having beautiful rangolis and an inaugural speech by Dr. Nitisha Jha ma’am followed by a mesmerising dance. A speech on pongal was presented along with poster presentation on “Not wasting food and indirectly helping the farmers”. The students proceeded with Haldi Kumkum for honorary teachers and staff and ended by distributing til-gud to everyone. 

MARATHI DIWAS

Marathi Bhasha Diwas is an annual observance in india. NMFCE celebrates Marathi language and its rich cultural heritage every year. 7th May, 2022 was marked with various events and activities such as presentations, enchanting skit and lawni. A beautiful poetry was recited along with powada to promote and preserve Marathi language. The event concluded with fashion show portraying great Marathi leaders, poets and freedom fighters to honour their courageous contribution to the world.  

NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY

Science Day at NMFCE on 9th May, 2022 was dedicated to celebrating and promoting the importance of science in our lives. National Science Day is celebrated every year on 28 February to mark the discovery of the 'Raman Effect' by Sir C.V. Raman on 28 February 1928.It involved a variety of events and activities including dance, science experiments and speeches that highlight the contributions of science to our understanding of the world and our ability to solve complex problems. They day provided an opportunity to inspire the young and raise awareness about scientific discovery.

WOMEN’S DAY

Women’s day at NMFCE started with a welcome speech about the importance of Women's Day. This was followed by a skit about the challenges faced by women in our society and the need for collective action to bring about change. Other activities included singing, dancing, and acting. The highlight of the program was teachers and students dressed as renowned female personalities and imparted knowledge about their contributions. In conclusion, the Women's Day celebration was a huge success.  

GURU PURNIMA

The festival of Guru Purnima was celebrated in our College on 9th July 2023. It is a day to be grateful. When you see how wisdom has transformed your life, you feel grateful for all that has come your way. It involved felicitating teachers with creative cards, mesmerizing dances, and singing. The event concluded with a skit on the importance of gurus.

JANMASHTAMI

To mark the pious occasion of Janmashtami, the Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Education celebrated Janmashtami on 13th September, 2023. Our teachers lit the lamp for Ganesh Vandana followed by Saraswati Vandana. Singing was done followed by radha Krishna dance performance. A skit was performed on Krishna’s childhood. The audience was in awe. The celebrations concluded with the distribution of sweets and Prasad. The event was such a momentous one.
